Stop this way...

In a social-scientific experiment in the United States, a group of young people talked about what they thought were their origins. Some considered themselves Pure Americans and others declared that they felt a race superior to many others. They said they were proud to belong to their race.

The purpose of the experiment was to do a DNA test to discover in time to which ancestral breeds each belonged. When the results arrived, many were surprised to see that a significant percentage of their DNA belonged precisely to the countries that had previously discriminated. Their lives changed when they knew de real truth.

The truth transforms people. It makes us stop along the way and reconsider everything we had previously believed and makes everything meaningful. In the journey of our lives we have to stop and consider not only when our trip started but also where do we go, what is the real sense of our lives?

Once upon the time there was a single father who takes his eight-year-old son to worked with him at the railroad drawbridge where he was the bridge tender. At the bridge, the father went into the engine room, and told his son to stay at the edge of the nearby lake. A ship came, and the bridge was lifted. Though it is supposed to arrive an hour later, the train happens to arrive. The son saw this, and tried to warn his father, who was currently not paying attention and was unaware of the oncoming train. Just as the oncoming train approached, his son fell into the drawbridge gear works while attempting to lower the bridge, leaving the father with a horrific choice: Rescue his son and let hundreds of people die or lowers the bridge or saving the lives of people on the train and sacrifice his only son?

The father then lowed the bridge, the gears crushed the boy. The people in the train were completely oblivious to the fact a boy died trying to save them, others kept looking out the window indifferently. Everyone continued with their lives ignoring what had just happened.

What would happen if you accepted the fact that someone gave his life for you to live?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

The fact of knowing where we come from is important but it is more valuable to know that God loved us so much that he gave us the most precious thing to save our life from eternal death. This truth should make us plan the meaning of our life. Knowing that someone loves us so much gives us happiness and peace. Knowing the truth we can find rest in our souls, we can find the sense of our life and we can focus in a future of hope.

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life..." (John 14:6) "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. " (John 8:32)

God gives us a guide in his word and invites us to discover more of Christ. It also promises us rest for our soul.
